Recipe: Hunza Tea

Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • Filtered water: 4 cups
  • Mint leaves: 12
  • Basil leaves: 8
  • Green cardamoms: 4
  • Cinnamon stick: 2 gm
  • Jaggery: 20 gm (adjust to taste)
  • Lemon juice: To taste

Method of Preparation

  1. Boil Water: Add 4 cups of filtered water to a tea pan and bring it to a boil.
  2. Add Ingredients: Toss in mint leaves, basil leaves, green cardamoms, and cinnamon stick. Stir gently.
  3. Sweeten: Add jaggery and let it dissolve completely.
  4. Simmer: Reduce the heat and simmer for 5-7 minutes to infuse flavors.
  5. Add Lemon: Turn off the heat, strain the tea, and add fresh lemon juice to taste.
  6. Serve: Pour into cups and serve warm.
