Healthy Harvest Flatbread Grain-Free
No Grain Chapati (With Pulses and Seeds)
Ingredients:
- 20g dhuli masoor dal (red Lentils) (washed and dried)
- 20g dhuli moong dal (yellow Lentils) (washed and dried)
- 10g pumpkin seeds (washed and dried)
- 10g chia seeds (unwashed and dried)
- 20g dry coconut powder (unwashed and dried)
Method of Preparation:
- Prepare the Flour:
- Take all the ingredients as instructed.
- Blend each ingredient separately into a fine powder using a grinder or food processor.
- Mix all the powders together thoroughly to form a uniform flour.
- Prepare the Dough:
- Add lukewarm water gradually to the flour and knead into a soft dough.
- Let the dough rest for 1-2 hours to achieve the best consistency and texture.
- Make the Chapati:
- Divide the dough into small portions and roll out each portion into a chapati using a rolling pin.
- Since the dough may be slightly oily due to the seeds and coconut powder, use parchment paper or a dusting of dry flour (optional) for easy rolling.
- Cook the Chapati:
- Heat a clay pot pan or cast-iron pan on medium heat.
- Place the chapati on the pan and cook for 1-2 minutes on one side until light brown spots appear. Flip and cook the other side for another 1-2 minutes.
- Repeat for the remaining dough.
- Serve:
- Serve hot with your favorite curry, chutney, or yogurt for a wholesome meal.
