Crave Sugar

When we talk of having optimal health, the one thing that’s supposed to be our Enemy is Refined Sugars- they can cause inflammation and blood sugar spikes and are contraindicated especially for PCOS.

But it’s something we crave the most and is the most difficult to eliminate from our diet. But have you ever wondered Why do you crave so much sugar, there’s definitely a reason? Understanding the cause and eliminating it is the first step to stopping these cravings.

A few causes include-

When don’t eat enough, your body does not get enough calories and hence is always looking for quick energy sources, which in turn makes you crave sugars.

Also Including proteins and Fats in your diet keeps you fuller for longer, hence not having balanced meals could make you crave sugars post-meals.

Magnesium Deficiency is another reason which needs to be checked for.

Sleep Deprivation and Stress have been linked to increased sugar cravings due to reduced Serotonin Hormone.

Dehydration is another primary cause, Hence the next time you crave something sweet, First have a glass of water to see if that helps with the craving.

Lastly packaged and Processed foods that contain High Sodium content can also cause your body to crave sugars.

Find your reason to figure out your cause and accordingly work on your health to better it.
