Migraine Soothe Decoction

Migraine Relief Kada (Herbal Decoction)

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup water

  • 1 tsp fresh ginger (grated or crushed) – reduces inflammation, soothes nausea

  • 5–6 tulsi (holy basil) leaves – calming, anti-stress

  • 4–5 peppercorns – improves circulation

  • ½ tsp ajwain (carom seeds) – eases headache due to indigestion or gas

  • ½ tsp coriander seeds – cooling and reduces heat-induced headaches

  • 1 tsp fennel seeds (saunf) – calming effect on nerves

  • A pinch of turmeric – anti-inflammatory

  • (Optional) A few strands of saffron – traditional nerve relaxant

  • Honey or jaggery (optional, for taste)


Method:

  1. Boil 1 cup water in a saucepan.

  2. Add all the ingredients (except honey/jaggery).

  3. Simmer for 7–8 minutes until water reduces slightly.

  4. Strain into a cup.

  5. Add a little honey/jaggery if needed (avoid if migraine is triggered by sugar).

  6. Drink warm, preferably at the first sign of headache.

  • Ginger & Tulsi → Reduce inflammation & calm nerves.

  • Pepper & Ajwain → Improve blood circulation & relieve tension-type pain.

  • Fennel & Coriander → Cooling, balance heat-related triggers.

  • Turmeric → Anti-inflammatory, helps long-term prevention.


Note:

  • Drink once a day during migraine onset, or 2–3 times a week for prevention.

  • Avoid on an empty stomach if you’re prone to acidity.

  • Each person’s triggers differ; observe how your body responds.
